This book is set on the sandy shores of Hawaii, just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. From the moment I read the title I knew this book was going to be undeniably intense.
Sienna's life is all about structure and organization. She has a plan and is quickly climbing the ranks at work, which doesn't leave her time for much else. So when things start to go awry with her event and she flees to the beach for some privacy she doesn't expect to find comfort in the words of a thoughtful strang This book is set on the sandy shores of Hawaii, just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. From the moment I read the title I knew this book was going to be undeniably intense.
Sienna's life is all about structure and organization. She has a plan and is quickly climbing the ranks at work, which doesn't leave her time for much else. So when things start to go awry with her event and she flees to the beach for some privacy she doesn't expect to find comfort in the words of a thoughtful stranger named, Luke. Not only is Luke thoughtful but outrageously handsome as well, at least to Sienna he is. There's an instant attraction between the two, so when Luke asks her to stay she does something she wouldn't normally do, she takes a two week vacation and stays. With Luke as her tour guide and a whole two weeks free, Sienna sets out to explore. Luke has a way of making her comfortable and she ends up sharing a long term fear. He makes it his mission to help her overcome that fear, but only if she's ready.
The more time they spend together the more they realize there's something more there. There are feelings that are only growing deeper by the day, but how can it work when her life is all the way in California? Not just that but is Luke hiding something? As the two weeks start coming to a close not only does Sienna discover some great things about taking a much needed vacation, but also discovers so much about herself.

"We're all stronger than our weaknesses," he says. "Sometimes we just need someone to help us find that strength."

This isn't a complex story, it's not jam packed with angst, but it did give me all kinds of feels. It didn't leave me with feelings of foreboding because I felt like this book was more about life and love. It did also leave me pondering several things, like why waste time on things that don't make us feel absolutely fulfilled and happy? We only have one life to live so why not live it to the max.

This is an exceptional story about overcoming fears and seizing the day.
