I heartily enjoyed the first part of the novel. little Janet was very much a pleasant little girl yet a rebellious child. Jane Eyre made its success as a novel, not just for being a sympathetic love story, but also because it is a story of a self-development. A girl who managed to assuage her rebellion to a state of peace yet lively, to find her inner will regardless of any other dictations, to be an independent woman who is able to take free choices by her own, to break free from the false vows ...more
