My friend Suhas, who is from Bangalore (why is this relevant?) recommended this book to me. I picked it up to read about ham or rye or something light and humourous. This was dark though. This was dark as they come. Charles Bukowski is a genius. I tried to read the book in three sessions. But it was as if the chapters were reading themselves and could not leave the book in the second session itself.
