Shelves: feature

First book of Neil Gaiman which I read ! It was fascinating! The language is lucid. I couldn't stop reading. My favorite character being cat in this novel. Story is magical and creepy.
Some of lines I liked from novel are,

“What's your name,' Coraline asked the cat. 'Look, I'm Coraline. Okay?'
'Cats don't have names,' it said.
'No?' said Coraline.
'No,' said the cat. 'Now you people have names. That's because you don't know who you are. We know who we are, so we don't need names.”

Short, very dark and engaging. Finished the book in two days. It is the story of a little girl who had moved into a house with her parents. Neglected, bored and often lonely, once she's done visiting with her eccentric neighbours she decides to be an explorer - until that exploration leads her through a locked door in the drawing room through a dark passage way to an alternate house where her other mother waits for her.
