I read this as part of a reading challenge, with a Mystery/Thriller in the mix. It was interesting and hard to put down, but hard also for me to rate, because I think I rate books based largely on what I take or learn from them, and the depth of feeling they evoke. It's likely the mystery/thriller genre, or this book anyway, is meant to entertain (thrill) with suspense more than to leave behind knowledge. It did that. Wow. Wow. I might be a little messed up about this story. Perhaps because I read it in a day, but the trip I took with the ... "protagonist" was unusual. Can't wait for the book club discussion!
