I was not a fan of this book at all. I only managed to make it about a quarter of the way through before I got tired of it. I tried to make myself read more, but I found it to be impossible. This book, in my opinion, is very overhyped. I didn't like the characters and I didn't like the plot. I had a very hard time keeping track of the characters. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard had been on my tbr list since its release last year, so when I saw it, along with Windwitch, at BigW for a bargain price I was beyond happy and purchased them without a second thought. Other than being about witches (duh) I had no idea what to expect from this book, though from the love it’s been receiving on social media I pitched my bar quite high.

This book had a slow start for me, but that was due to the way the author built/introduced the world. She throws you right in and you have to figure things out yourself and gradually you learn/understand more about it. After I got past that point, and I'm not quite sure where that point was, past 100 pages though, but I totally got into it and I could not put it down. The world is just so unique, I can't quite compare it to any other popular series. It is definitely high fantasy though. I think
