HOLY CAT! I love the world and characters that Renee Ahdieh created. I found myself rereading paragraphs, as the writing was captivating, sensual and evocative. I didn't want the story to end and I need the second book now.

This was such a beautiful retelling! I fell in love with Ahdieh's writing, and I absolutely adored all of the characters and the world building. I really can't wait for the sequel to be released. This greatly exceeded all of my expectations!

Oh my god, finally to review something on an actual computer.
Okay! So, this story absolutely sucked me in from the first time I had heard about it. I was so excited because I love retellings - whether they stick to the original plot line or not - so I saved this book until the second one was out so I could marathon them both! Within that time, everyone was always hyping it up and how great it was and just - I was so ready to get my hands on this story!

I am fairly certain this book is one of my top three books of 2015 so far. I'm kinda bummed out that I read it so fast and so soon because now I have to wait for what it seems like forever for the next one. I remember clearly hearing the Arabian Nights story as a little girl, so I was beyond excited to start this.
