First read: rates 5 stars
Review: This book was so good!
Second read: rated 4 stars
Review: Safi was annoying until nearly the end, but I loved Aduean and Iseult so they made up for it. I also didn’t love Merik the second time round, except he redeemed himself at the end. He kept claiming to put his country first, and yet was willing to hand the person that was key to him getting a trade agreement to feed his country over to the enemy. Doesn’t really stack up. But other than that, I liked it!

We hear about a peace treatry thats about to end, but we don´t know who is fighting in this war or why were they fighting in the first place. The magic system is really underwhelmingly unimaginative yet not explain at all, i ...more
