I was completely blown away by this book. Everything, Everything is the story of a girl named Madeline who has spent her life living in a bubble. When she was a baby it was discovered that she has SKID, a rare allergy to practically everything. Because of this Maddy is not able to leave the sanctity of her home. In order for people to come see her they have to go through rigorous medical examinations and a decontamination upon entering the house. Maddy lives with her mother, who just so 4.5 Stars

I was completely blown away by this book. Everything, Everything is the story of a girl named Madeline who has spent her life living in a bubble. Maddy lives with her mother, who just so happens to be her doctor, and a nurse named Carla. Maddy is content with her life of books and game nights with her mom, until the day that a new family moves in next door and a boy catches her eye.

The execution of this book was flawless. I loved the integration of pictures and graphs. It really added charm and character to the novel. The chapters were really short so I just flew through this book so fast, I never wanted to put it down. Because of the nature of the story I was alway holding my breath waiting for something bad to happen but I loved that it took a unique turn I wasn’t expecting. The writing itself felt like I was reading Maddy’s diary. It was very personal and thought provoking. I felt as if Maddy was telling this story to me.

I loved Maddy! She is such a wise character and I kept finding myself blown away by her strength. Maddy really surprised me because for someone who has literally and metaphorically lived in a bubble her whole life, she is so wise. She wants not just to live, but to live a life worth remembering. Also something I loved was that Maddy is not the “typical” YA protagonist. If you are looking for a book with a diverse main character then look no further because Maddy is Japanese/African American.

Olly was such a cutie. His need to protect Maddy warmed my heart especially when you learn his backstory and why he is so protective of the people he loves. One of my favorite parts of the novel were the messages between Olly and Maddy. I found myself giggling like I little girl while reading them! I loved seeing Maddy experience the world with Olly. He really opened her up to the possibility of more. I loved the relationship that was formed between them because it felt so natural and organic.

I also got the chance to meet Nicola at BEA and she is one of the sweetest most gracious people I have ever met. I seriously recommend this book to everyone! It is just such a refreshing story of love and life.

THIS BOOK.

Since this year started, I've read over 50 books. That's a lot of books. And out of those 50+ books, this one is by far my favourite of the year so far. To me, it was just miles ahead of everything else I have read this year. I am honestly in awe of Nicola Yoon and this BEAUTIFUL book. I am officially obsessed.
So you can probably tell that I'm already gushing and am struggling to form coherent sentences and that is because it is SO RARE that I come across a book such as Reread 7/9/15

So you can probably tell that I'm already gushing and am struggling to form coherent sentences and that is because it is SO RARE that I come across a book such as this one, that makes me go, 'oh my gosh, this is my new favourite book', and it happened with Everything, Everything.
It follows Madeline who has an extremely rare disease (SCID) that results in her being allergic to pretty much everything in the outside world. She lives indoors through filtered air and carefully cooked plain foods and is cared for by her mother (who is a doctor) and her nurse (who has been her nurse since she was young). Her father and brother were killed in an accident when she was just four months old, so her mother and her nurse, Carla, are the only people she communicates with. Then a family moves in next door and she is immediately drawn to the teenage boy and his living situation (his father is an alcoholic and is very abusive) and they lock eyes through her window.
I'm not going to say anymore, because there are still MONTHS of anticipation for some of you who have to wait until the release date! :(
This book has everything. It has a beautiful romance that isn't at all cheesy and will literally deposit butterflies into your stomach with each word you read, it has aspects of mental illness (which I think it really important to be incorporated into YA novels), it has an amazing and intriguing plot line that will leave you in awe, it has effortless and stunning writing and it will make you FEEL THINGS. And that's what reading is all about! A book really hits home for me when I feel it in my soul. I am so in love with this book and I can't wait for everyone else to read it. <3 ...more

I LOVED IT SOOOOO MUCH, AND I CANT URGE YOU ALL TO READ IT ENOUGH.

It was great, quick, gripping and all in all book. Meaning a must read book. Kind a book that you once start you put it down when you read THE END! (Literally).

I loved this so much! I got attached to characters straight away and really ended up loving them by the end. I liked how fast the pace was of this. I was able to fly through it. I enjoyed the way that it was told in different formats too such as illustrations, IMs, letters, news, emails ect. Such an emotional journey and i totally didn't expect the twist at the end. This book was beautifully written. Nicola Yoon's writing style is poetic and the drawings and extra media bits in here really makes you invested more in the story and also allows you to fly through this book.
I adored the character of Maddy and how innocent and kind she was. Olly was a unique, cheeky character who was funny and a great male love interest.
The first line of this book is probably one of my favourite first lines of a book ever: "I've read many more books than you". As a book lover ...more

I feel bad that my rating is so much lower than everyone else's, but my opinion is my opinion and I need to stick to it. The main reason why I'm not rating this book higher is because it didn't blow me away as I had expected it would.
