I couldn't bring myself to give this higher than 3 stars because it's just not as good as some of my favourite fantasies, but it was still really good! The instalove was super cringeworthy and the writing was very simple and I dunno it's just not the best thing I've ever read. ...more

Damn! It was such a great book. It is hard for me giving it 5 stars because I just finished The mistborn trilogy and THAT is a 5 stars series, but this is YA and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I flew through it. The characters are great and I was surprised of how graphical deads were. It's a pretty rough for I YA book and I loved that -that sounded mobid.
Anyway, I think the plot is great and that there is a lot of good stuffs coming up from this long fantasy series. ...more

After all the hype i had heard about this book, i was really expecting so much more. The story is simple enough, so it wasn't confusing, and was actually a pretty good start to a fantasy series, i just couldn't really get into it.

The insta-love between Cleo and Theon just didn't work for me, they had the potential to be cute, but that sadly didn't occur. (view spoiler) ...more

This cover is lovely and fitting of the story, what a nice change of pace.

So this is not the greatest fantasy novel ever written, however it is quite wonderful anyway. There is such and addictive quality to this and the way it's told and unlike adult fantasy with multiple POV's its so simple to keep the storyline clear while reading.
