For me what's not to love,a book about books,including my favourite the Three Musketeers,murder,intrigue,a hint of supernatural and some secret signs hidden in illustrations. This is the fourth time I have read this and I still thoroughly enjoyed it. ...more

Our group found it hard to classify this book - was it a murder-mystery, a thriller, or supernatural? Or all three? Lucas Corso is tasked with finding out whether a copy of a satanic text, 'The Nine Doors', and a manuscript chapter of 'The Three Musketeers' are genuine, and gets mixed up with murder and intrigue along the way. Three of four of us couldn't get into it at all and didn't manage to finish, while others struggled at first, finding it rather slow, but then started to enjoy the intrigu ...more
