What Members Thought
For once, the Group were fairly unanimous in their thoughts on this book. Several of us didn't think we would like it, going from the cover and the blurb. We thought it sounded a bit 'chick-lit', and felt that the plot device (perfect wife and mother with perfect life which all comes crashing down due to the revelation of a secret) had been used several times before e.g. in 'Left Neglected'. Oh dear,it is not often I really hate a book,but I hated this. I didn't like the plot,or the characters or the structure. Sometimes books just don't work for some people and this was one that didn't work for me. I wouldn't have finished it if it hadn't been for book group but I am glad I did because I liked the very last chapter with all the what might have been bits.
