The group were divided about this book - most of us really liked it, and one member thought it was the best book she'd read in ages - she even laughed out loud in places at the rather black humour. However, one member disliked it and had to force herself to continue, mostly because she didn't like any of the characters. We all agreed that it was well-written, a crime novel with a difference, with interesting characters, especially the main protagonist. We even sympathised with one of the bad guy

oh dear, i wanted to like this,but i just didn't. i am not even sure why i disliked it so much, it had elements that would normally appeal to me,thriller,quirky characters but i kept thinking it reminded me of other books but didn't quite match up.

It was interesting, pacy and full of suspense. Rather strange story but fascinating characters.
Generally, we liked this book, it is an unusual thriller with an eccentric hero.
It would be interesting to see a film version of this book. I think that would work very well.
