Hm, I really liked this book at first with its quirky characters and the narration style. I thought this would be a more grief-focused story lamenting her parents' deaths, but ultimately it was more about found family. The story went in an odd direction with the fostering dynamic and also with Willow "fixing"/helping all the people around her. I started losing steam towards the end. There are also a lot of unbelievable aspects to the characters and story but I think that was the author's choice; ...more

Willow's life falls apart when her adoptive parents both die in a car crash. Willow has always been "odd" according to her peers. She doesn't have friends and that never bothered her. I listened to the audiobook of this for book club. It was a little strange that Willow never went back to her house. Also strange that she was never made to go back to school. The counselor bugged big time. I loved how all the goodness Willow sent out to the world ended up coming back to repay her. She ended up with her own family of people who cared about her. I wish all orphans were so lucky!
