This belongs in the "memoir from my teens" hall of fame along with the works of Raina Telgemeier and Jarrett J. Krosoczka. Give it to every middle schooler that you know so they might believe that one day it will be alright. I especially like the endnotes and photos.

I loved this. Dan Santat so perfectly captures the angst and trauma of middle school. I also loved experiencing his trip to Europe in the late 80s with little adult supervision. That would never be allowed today, but it was such a formative experience!
