What Members Thought
I finally read this book today. Done in reverso verse (using the same lines of poetry in opposite order) 2 poems are created with distinct meaning. Singer ran the theme of fairy tales throughout the book. Incredibly clever and captivating! Really nothing more to say than if you are looking for a fun book for upper elementary as a gift this book is perfect!
This delightful collection of verses that can be read forward and backward (completely changing the perspective) will challenge children to create their own "reversos." The illustrations expand on the theme of mirror images. They are lively and colorful, successfully capturing these irreverent fairy tale characters who are not, perhaps, entirely happy with their lot in life. A clever and thoroughly enjoyable new take on tales we thought we knew.
