I adore Callie Vee and was happy to revisit her world and admire her interest in science. I was not so happy with the recording though. The narrator did a nice enough performance, especially embodying Callie's intelligence and spunk, but her adult male voices all sounded the same. The pace of this book is even slower than the first and slightly more episodic than its predecessor. I love the character of Calpurnia, but found the story a bit uneven. Better as it went on, and love that it make science and learning for a girl something to aspire to, even in her time. The ending was a bit abrupt, but I am wondering if that is because another book may be planned????
