I listened to the audiobook narrated by Juliet Stevenson. While Stevenson did an excellent job of narrating, the story itself just could not keep my attention. I realize that it is a fantasy, or maybe magical realism, but the people did not seem real or natural in their behavior in my opinion.

Just okay for me. Listened to the audiobook. I did like how the story resolved in the end. But to me it was an odd book. Not sure what kind of kid should like this story.
