Gritty and interesting. Like that it was based on real people and events. Interesting to read about a very different place and time and to see pictures online of what Northern Iceland looks like.
Very impressive that this was written by a young woman and is her first novel. While I didn’t ‘love it’, I liked it enough to give it 4* and had no trouble picking it up every time.
