What fun is this! Silly in a lot of ways, I still found this book to be well thought out and humourous.
Thursday Next is a Special Ops detective in the Literary Forces. Yup. And when the words to Martin Chuzzlewit start changing, Thursday is on the case.....just the premise is hilarious.

For someone as deeply in love with literature as I am, Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair was an absolute delight. The book follows the adventures of Thursday Next an operative in SpecOps, specifically in the LitraTec Division which specializes in literary crimes. Literary crimes! The very concept is fantastic. I went back and reread Jane Eyre after reading this book. In one of the Thursday Next titles, Martin Chuzzlewit by Charles Dickens is one of the books entered into in the book world. Because of this, I read it for the first time (it was a Dickens I had missed when I was reading Dickens).
