A student of history will see the plight of Jews, the Muslim nations, and the Christians on both sides of the Mediterranean in the Early Renaissance and/or Crusades.

This is my third book by this author, the previous two having been a 2 star and a 4 star, I wasn't sure how this one would land. But it was just a 2 star read for me.

Oh my word! One of the most enjoyable books I have ever read! A wonderful sotry, fabulous characters, and oh, how beautifully it is written. Poetic in places, the story telling manner of the writing is just wonderful.

After a re-read after reading Brightness Long Ago, I enjoyed it even more. Definitely worth reading these books in the right order!!
