A solid 3+ stars, the only reason I'm not giving it 4 stars is because of the first half of the book.

From the first page of the first chapter I was hooked and very excited but then the rest of the first half of the book severely disappointed me to the point that when I was 50% done with the book I set it down for a couple of days and seriously considered abandoning it. Shelves: fantasy

i was left feeling disappointed with this book after reading such high praise, im beginning to think fantasy doesnt always sit well with me as i seem to score fantasy either as excellent or rubbish, there doesnt seem to be much middle ground.

I found the character Glokta to be the main interest in the book, while logen ninefingers seemed a secondary character. I wanted more logen but was happy to stick with Glokta.
