I frankly couldnt get through more thanhalf of it. I think its the overbearing descriptions of everything. At first he seems like one of those writers who abuse the thesaurus, but then i noticed he does reuse the same SAT words. Still, the descriptions kind of drone on and on, and repeat themselves. How many times do i need to be told the main charector is "pugnacious"? Show, dont tell, and certainly dont tell repeatedly. What a dark bleak world he describes, this is definitely not a city that finds a place on your list of cities to visit before you die. The author does an incredible job of describing this city and its inhabitants, and I found thoroughly enjoyable reading the words that describe his vivid imagination.
