What Members Thought
This is a quirky, thoroughly enjoyable, short novel that takes place on the Upper West Side of New York, and the author does a great job of making you feel like you are right there in the neighborhood. I love the characters -- 75-year-old author and 1970's feminist Florence Gordon and her family -- and the brief chapters that resemble their lives -- lived in snapshots and snippets, which is the way oddball intellectual New Yorkers (and all of us!) live.
