I was completely drawn in to the characters - Ms. Shapiro paints a vivid painting with words..

The first story takes place during the WPA, with Eleanor Roosevelt playing a prominent role, as well as other major painters of the time, I learned some very interesting bite of history, especially about LBJ!

I loved this book. I was completely engrossed in the story and the characters. If you have an interest in the artists of the WPA, the life and times of the abstract expressionists in NY, the early days of the holocaust, the politics of the time in the U.S., as well as a young woman of today in search of a missing link in her family tree, then you'll enjoy this book.
I wanted more when I finished it....
