Apparently, these books are all the rage with teen and tween girls right now. I decided to check them out. Honestly, I really wanted to give both Twilight and New Moon more stars...the story is great. The thing is, I'm not so sure about the way Bella, the main character, is portrayed. She is obsessed with Edward in the first book and then completely depends on Jacob in the second. We see no strong female relationships in the story (although Bella and Alice become somewhat close). An incredible read. Young adult fiction at its best. If Stephanie Meyer's can keep this story as interesting as it is now, I'm headed for a great time. Please don't let the subject matter or the fact that this series is found in YA keep you from exploring this new and exciting author.

This was ok... I dont know what I thought about. I really don't like vampire tales, and I had a hard time even trying to get into it. But once I let go of my preconceptions, I was able to enjoy it.
