Brooks' books are always well researched to provide authentic settings and backgrounds for her well-devised fictional plots. The "Book" is the Jewish Sarajevo Haggadah which has survived centuries of ethnic purges and wars. Ok book, the history addressed is very good, can easily see where portions of the book were written in an attempt to keep the reader interested.
Not my favorite read however, makes for a decent Book Club read. Keep this in the Too Be Read pile with the intention to read it when you get through the rest of the Too Be Reads are caught up or need a diversion.

200 pages and didn’t care enough to finish it. Normally I love this genre but alas, not this book.
