Wow that was an engrossing book! Once I got caught up in it, I couldn't put it down! I was super impressed with how intricate the storyline was, yet it was not confusing, which is always a trick. It was one of those good winter reads ;) I don't really know what the title has to do with the rest of the book, but it was still pretty darn cool. As I think of more things I liked/disliked, I will come back and edit my review :)

I wanted to love this book but felt at times frustrated reading it...Could this be true tale? Could it instead been a figment of the couples imagination and isolation? parts i found hard to believe and others i felt i could identify with....
Liked it but found the plot a little convoluted. Some of the characters had drifted into nothingness by the end. Certainly a great first novel.
Loved this book - very atmospheric of the Canadian winter and life for 1800s settlers. Also gripping mystery.
