This is so disappointing. I'm utterly underwhelmed by the first 100 pages of this novel and very disappointed that Kristin Cashore, author of "Graceling" which I adored, recommended this. It's written so childishly that it feels like it's intended for 11-year-olds and certainly not for adult women who enjoy the YA genre. The plot progresses at a snail's crawl. It was good overall and I was excited to read the book based on the summary (and the awesome packaging for the advanced copy didn't hurt). But, the voice really didn't grab me like I wanted it to. I was expecting to get pulled into the story like with Throne of Glass or Legend, but there was always a bit of a distance between me and the characters.
