This one hit real close to home.......
I don't know how much this would have touched me had I not been raised in a town similar to Forrestville (LITERALLY- I come from a town that has the exact same population and has a Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park within the county. So, needless to say, Dill, Travis, Lydia and I had lots in common with our upbringings.)
Let me point out just a slight criticism before I say anything else. If you are wanting/thinking that this particular book is gonna be actio ...more

I just realized that the cover has a blurb from John Corey Whaley, which speaks so much about this book.

I absolutely loved this book!! I can honestly say this is going on my 'Favorites' list. & I think is the best book I have read this year! I absolutely fell in love with the characters & as someone who spent a great deal of their childhood in small-town TN - I can say honestly say the author portrays this perfectly! These characters felt like your friends. I knew some of the towns mentioned & I could imagine myself right back at my grandparents house in the summer. I stayed up reading till about
