I had wanted to read this book for a long time because I heard so many great things about it. I have to say that I expected to read it and give it an automatic 5 star review, but I can't do that. The book was good, and his writing was humorous, but nothing seemed to be happening. Sure, there were a few big events, but they didn't seem to connect to anything else in the plot. I almost didn't keep reading after what happened to the dog in the very beginning, but I'm glad I did.

I feel like maybe I would have given this book 5 stars if I hadn't heard about the author's behavior. It's hard to separate a fictional work from the person who created it. ...more
