They do not truly understand the lengths that this competition will bring them to and the venue for the competition is the night circus. This is honestly one of the best books I've read in a while. I expected the magic part of it to be overdone, but instead what I found was a world of illusion, of gentle and descriptive magic, a beautiful enmeshment of the real world and the magic we wish we could find around every corner--and maybe we could find it if we tried. I liked it and especially the characters! I felt it jumped around quite a bit so I had to remind myself what was happening with each character when I picked it back up. I felt it also left some unanswered questions about some of the main characters.
