Well written but a bit romancy for my tastes. I liked the interesting world painted for readers of angels and chimaera, and I liked the suspense surrounding Karou and her errands for Brimstone. I think this series had a lot of potential. Out of the series this is probably the best book. I truly enjoyed reading it.

Wow, wow, wow, and more wow! Reading this book was like taking a taste of smooth and rich wine after the nasty taste of beer. I cannot even get out how much it really shook me awake. It isn't like anything I have read before, and I am eager to get the next book ASAP. Please please please give this book a read- and if you tried, try again! Sooo worth it! ...more

Interesting take on fallen angels, daemons, and magic. I really enjoyed it, but was kind of excited to think that this might be a stand-alone novel. However, I see that it is the first in a series. Oh well, hopefully the next books are just as engaging!
