Well written but a bit romancy for my tastes. I liked the interesting world painted for readers of angels and chimaera, and I liked the suspense surrounding Karou and her errands for Brimstone. I think this series had a lot of potential. Out of the series this is probably the best book. I truly enjoyed reading it.

The story and details of this book are undeniable odd, but Laini Taylor's prose is entrancing, enthralling, and just plain beautiful. I couldn't help but adore Karou, the protagonist, or to be drawn into the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for a young adult book that is uncommon and uncommonly lovely. ...more
