This is an excellent read. It read more like a novel than a textbook, I was able to visualize the story as the author progressed. There were many fascinating facts covered in it's pages. It also included some pop culture references and the audiobook had a outtake that made me smile.

If you are interest in the world around you and the creatures in it I highly recommend this read. It is so much better than a biology textbook.

Listening to this on audio and I so wish I could read it but audio is the best option for me currently.

Even just in the intro, I'm hooked. He discusses how many different species interpret the same environment. How the birds notice the changes in the temperature, the human sees far out, the spider doesn't see any of the same things but feels the vibrations on their web and the bat notices the sonar sounds coming off the web and snatches up the spider.
