A really interesting mystery with a easily relatable main character. I love Frank. He was easy to slip right next to as he told us his story.

He's a widower and a hard working UPS driver. He has a respect for his job, his family, and the world at large around him. And, out of the blue after 3 years of silence, his daughter calls to tell him not only is she getting married but she'd love for him to be there. He finds himself drawn into the world of the ultra wealthy without ever really getting his

I'm really curious about Maggie's Dad's issues....there just seems like so many....
makes me wonder if this book is only in his point of view....
Uugghhh, Frank is just getting on my nerves now 🙄🙄
What's up with the daddy long legs?? 🤮🤮 I mean on the dinner table by Frank's water glass??
After Abigail goes & rambles off all those rivers and Tammy is going on about how much she knows maybe they should have had her sign that privacy document!!!
Awwww, Frank doesn't like age gap relationships 🤭🤭

This ended up being a underwhelming book. I enjoyed Rekulak's Hidden Pictures (though not as much as the hype surrounding it led me to expect), but this didn't even have the same level of tension. I was bored. I didn't like a single character. The twist was obvious but also irritating and left me rolling my eyes. ...more

For the most part, I enjoyed Hidden Pictures by this author, so I'm coming back for more!

Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for this ARC! The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak comes out on October 8, 2024.

So I wasn't expecting the tone to be what it was. It's kind of funny? And I liked the MC and how he saw everything. But I had two main issues with this story. First, maybe because of the pov, the other characters were really one dimensional. There were some interesting characters here, but we didn't really get to be in any of their heads. And second, all of the reveals were just handed to the MC. Like he'd walk into a room and be like "tell me what happened" and then whoever he was speaking to w ...more

Omg the father Frank was extremely irritating character. I was seething at his behaviour at every turn!!

Worth the read!!

This is an example of how not to write a female antagonist. Another reviewer mentioned it being chauvinistic and I agree. Yes, the writing is good, the plot structure is okay, some side characters are decent but the FMC's role as well as the role of a leading side character were rife with sexism. ...more
