It is about Drayton College, a magical school of persuasion, mind control, the seventies way.

Lennon runs away from her wedding when she finds her husband to be with her best friend. She gets a call for interview to attend Drayton, an old college that nobody has ever heard of.

She is the most talented student and becomes the favorite of Dante, the best and strongest teacher when she opens a gate to past.

It’s mind control and of course there is conspiracy and schemes and killing and using others.

I’m a sucker for dark academia. I read it even when it’s barely holding itself together (early Zodiac Academy, I’m looking at you). But this? This was a masterclass in how to make me not care. Lennon had the personality of damp cardboard, and the rest of the cast were paper thin. The “world-building” felt like someone scribbled notes on a napkin and called it a day.
