This book is my new favorite of the year so far I loved everything about it from the characters to the story. I really loved the characters especially Chrysantha she does what she wants and will do whatever to keep what she thinks is hers and hers alone. I also really enjoyed the romance it took awhile to get there but when it did it was amazing to read. I liked seeing more of the previous characters from the first book as well as the relationship between the sisters improving. Other than the ot ...more

It's been so long since I finished this book that I kind of forgot what I read. I do remember liking it more than I thought I would. I feel like this character, I hated in the first book, but then as I got to know her more in this one, she grew on me. I remember being shocked by a few things that happened throughout. Levenseller’s latest Romantasy sizzles off the pages. Wildly entertaining, feminist, and such fun, The Darkness Within Us crackles with romantic tension. This book is quite possibly Levenseller’s most romantic yet and will certainly appeal to adult and YA readers alike. This is THE can’t-miss book of the season for fans of monster romances and morally gray characters!
