What Members Thought
I know that Alex was an dark alpha male but I didn't really care for this storyline. I liked Ava's group of friends and that she made her place in the world and did her best to overcome her fears. Title is spot on! I'm not sure I 'm going to continue the series. I would like to know how the princess fares out in the next book.

Ummm… no. Just no. The male MC was too alpha. Like an extreme alpha where it wasn’t good. I didn’t like the plot. I just all around didn’t like this one. The female narrator was good. I loved her. The male narrator, not so much. He was not very good. I’m kind of wondering if I even want to read any other books by this author, but I might still continue this series just to see.

I really really loved this book.
Alex was absolutely the perfect possessive and touch-her-you-die guy. Ava was the perfect sunshine to his darkness. The characters and plot were really well done. I've read King of Wrath series first and I like the all the characters are interconnected. I can't wait to read about Rhys and Bridget.

I had no idea what to expect from this series when I picked it up. I knew people liked the overall series but that was it. I was pleasantly surprised to read the whole book in 5 hours. I liked the development of the characters. The grumpy/sunshine trope was tropey but that is what I expect to find in books in this particular romance genre. there were parts I liked and parts that were meh. nothing totally abhorrent and it was smooth enough to get through. i enjoyed Alex's back story (probably a nod towards my solid 2021 obsession with mafia romance lol) and Ava was a decent FMC. her friends were fun and they were all independent bada** chicks. without giving spoilers, i appreciated the ending a lot and the time period associated with it. overall decent book but probably won't read the second one; royalty isn't really my jam and Bri

This book was a hot mess. It started out pretty but the pacing was off and the story went off the rails with unbelievable plot points. The MMC is a bit of a buttmunch but I liked the other characters enough that I plan to read the next book. Hopefully the pacing and plot points are better.
Ava thinks her brother Josh's best friend, Alex, is a robot; rich, powerful, gorgeous and a genius IQ, but lacking any emotions. 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book but at times it seemed too far fetched, some of the circumstances were ridiculous. I still enjoyed the book though so it gets 3.5 stars. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Happy to have finally started this series that is normally a little darker than what I normally read. But I enjoyed it and the spice was definitely not as "spicy" as some people have said. Ava and Alex are complete opposites who are attracted to each and also part of the Alex is the brothers best friend trope, which is always a good one. Looking forward to the next one!
