I kind of have some mixed feelings about this book. I honestly didn’t love it or even remotely like it for the first 60% of the book. The last 40% was better, which is why I ended up giving this book 3 stars instead of 2. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I really couldn’t care less for them. Once they both started opening up a little more, they became better. Also I felt like her reasoning behind the whole spicy part that was a huge plot point just made absolutely no sense to me

This is my first dabble into Ali Hazelwood. I don't know if that puts me at an advantage because a lot of the reviews I've read seem to say this is how her books sound. I liked the science aspects and the trauma bonding. There were times where I didn't feel like the FMC actually even liked the MMC and often used sex to not talk about real things.
