I'm so mixed about this.

On one hand I didn't hate this. On the other it's sooo long. Like I read this over a few days and it's just felt very long. I did read this a BOTM so I'll include my thoughts. Which are probably quite a ride like this book.

This is a combination of how to train your dragon and fifty shades of grey

It is the first of a 5 book series,

There is no surprises. Nothing new.

The story of a very beautiful and brave girl with a very big heart who comes to great power, just because she is bravely stupid

And a very handsome strong powerful boy from the enemy clan with dark secrets, who has to protect her at first, and then falls for her and helps her grow and supports her to become equally powerful

There is a book prompt this year about picking the book based on the last sentence. This is not the book (and probably series) to do that with.

The world Yarros creates is amazing. Go into this blind (as another reviewer says) and allow the world to grow with you. I did carefully go to TikTok to get some pronunciations of names and places just so i knew what they really were.
