“We haven’t even been married for twenty-four hours. Praying mantises have longer honeymoon periods.”
Misery is the daughter of the most powerful Vampyre in her territory and instead of this making her powerful, it makes her a pawn. She is to be married off to the Were Alpha in order to maintain an alliance between their people. But Misery has her own reasons for agreeing to this marriage of convenience, her only friend in the world is missing and she has reason to believe the Al ...more

I really enjoyed this book it was a great foray into paranormal romance for this author I loved everything from the characters to the story. I really liked reading about these characters especially Misery she was very unique in many ways does things her own way only cares about certain people at first I also like Lowe and his sister Ana they both added so much to the story. The romance was set at just the right pace with both of them slowly getting to know one another and falling in love along t

I'm not really sure what to say about this book... Um... this wasn't the best paranormal book written. I love paranormal romance books and if you aren't very familiar with them, then sure, this might be a good introduction because this is also Ali Hazelwood's first paranormal romance book. There were a lot of things that I didn't like and there were some things that I did like.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ll be honest this book was nowhere on my radar. Firstly, I’ve read several of Ali Hazlewood’s books and decided after the last one, I probably wouldn’t read anymore. They were all STEM books and I just didn’t overall geehaw with the tone so to speak and I’ll just leave it at that. Other than the Mercy Thompson books and one other, I haven’t read any werewolf books either. However, this came up as a BOTM in a challenge group and it worked for another challenge so I thought…why not g ...more

This is a very cliche very unauthentic story. Same characters as every other romance story, an orphaned beautiful damsel in stress who’s been wronged by her tribe and a very handsome, strong influential prince/leader of the other tribe who imprints on her and comes to rescue.
The rest is as you know romantasy.
What bothers me is not the cliche or lack of story or the fact that nothing makes sense,
What bothers me is how the girl is brought up and treated as sacrificial lamb and that’s ok.

Vampyre Misery Lark has her own reasons to agree to a political marriage of convenience with the Were Alpha Lowe Moreland, reasons that have nothing to do with alliances and everything to do with her missing best friend. Misery is willing to do whatever it takes to find her friend, even if it means a life in Were territory…alone with the wolf.

I own this book.
I did not expect to love this book as much as I did.
I have to admit that Ali Hazelwood is a bit of an autobuy author for me, so I picked this up expecting that I would like it, but maybe not be OBSESSED with it in the same way I have been with her other books.
I was so wrong.
This might already be a top ten read of the year for me.
