What a great psychological thriller! The two MC's are Alix Summer and Josie Fair, women who share not only the exact same birthday but they were born in the same hospital. They just happen to "run into each other" in a restaurant where Alix is having a birthday party with friends, so Josie approaches her. Alix is a podcaster who's married to Nathan. Josie seems rather strange and complicated to Alix, but they still become "friends." Josie is married to Walter, has 2 children, but she wants to ch

I went into this book completely blind and I think that was the best choice for me. Looking back the blurb divulges too much and would have hindered the air of oddness and eeriness delivered by the book and characters. In fact knowing to expect Josie's weird behaviors would have changed how I saw the book as her oddities grow as the book goes on. Jewell writes such fantastically creepy thrillers. This was no exception! I’m glad I did the audio because it really brought the podcast and interview aspects to life; highly recommend it. The characters were great but really I enjoyed how the timeline played out.
I also really liked that it ended in 2020 and there were glimpses of the effects of the pandemic. So strange to see it in media already!

1 star. The more I think about the more pissed off I become. Lisa Jewell really put the blame on a young girl being groomed by a 40 something year old man and said that SHE seduced HIM because she was an evil temptress or some shit. Even had the nerve to say that he was a great father despite him being a pedophile. Jail. Immediately.
3 stars. Fantastic writing, intriguing plot but it lost me when it shifted the blame from Josie being groomed by her husband at 14-15 years old and he was in his fu

This was definitely a creepy story! Although I wasn't surprised, I was still hooked on the story throughout. I listened to it and that is definitely the best way to enjoy this story.
