This book is pure fun. It's warm, cozy, and it feels like curling up with a blanket on a rainy day. The story has a gentle magic to it. Not just spells, but the way it celebrates found family, belonging, and opening your heart when you've spent a long time holding back.

This book was delightful. It was such a sweet happy fun ride. It's far from the best book I've ever read but I can happily say I spent most the book smiling and kicking my feet because it's just sweet and fun. The cover has a line about it feeling like a hug it does kind of feel like a hug in book form.

Everyone thought this book was amazing, and I just... it was meh. I'm sorry, Sangu Mandanna - and the rest of the reading public! It was just a bit too... stereotypical and the whole grumpy and aversive to then ending up liking each other didn't work for me. 2 1/2 stars, rounded to 3.
