Honestly...not my favorite. I love CoHo. She is one of my favorite authors ever. I don't even care what she writes, it if is available to preorder, it will be preordered. That being said, I preordered this one in January and I was excited for it. I didn't read what it was about beforehand. All I knew going in was that it was something about Lily and Atlas. I didn't realize that this was what happened after It Ends With Us.

Let me start out by saying that I was happy with how It Ends Wit 3.5 stars

That being said, I preordered this one in January and I was excited for it. I didn't read what it was about beforehand. All I knew going in was that it was something about Lily and Atlas. I didn't realize that this was what happened after It Ends With Us.

Let me start out by saying that I was happy with how It Ends With Us ended. I had no desire or need for another book. I would have been happy if this book wasn't written. And I don't think Colleen Hoover ever felt the need to write this book; however, apparently everyone on TikTok kept asking her to write their story.

Spoilers if you haven't read It Ends With Us yet.

This book addresses all the readers issues with It Ends With Us. How Lily left Emmy with Ryle after the abuse. How Ryle wasn't made out to be a bad guy. And how Atlas wasn't the main focus the book. I have never felt like a book was specifically written for a specific audience to address all the issues of the first book until this one. And I felt like that's all this book did. We had Atlas and Lily's POVs, and how Lily was dealing with custody and moving on from Ryle. THEN we have another character thrown in, and it was just a little much.

I loved the Dear Lily letters, but I didn't need to reread the Dead Ellen letters. I would have been happy with this book never being written, but I can understand why Colleen Hoover felt the need to address all these issues.

It Ends With Us was written in 2014. As I was reading It Starts With Us, I was picturing this to be in 2014, just as it would have ended since that's where it left off. BUT this was written for the time period being 2022. The mention of TikTok did not make sense to me at all, expect that Colleen felt it was necessary to include it for all her TikTok fans. Overall, I was disappointed in this one. CoHo is my favorite author, but this just didn't feel like her and I could tell as I was reading it that she was just writing this because she felt like she had to, not because she wanted to.

For those of you who are like me and loved CoHo before she became popular on social media, this one will probably be a disappointment. I would have liked a short novella like Finding Perfect instead of this long book. ...more

Another great, book by Hoover. So many feels and emotions ( typical Hoover style) I love that Atlas and Lily finally found their happily ever after.

This sequel wasn’t necessary. While it is nice to give Lily a happy ending with Atlas the book fell for for me in a lot of ways. It’s very cheesy and warm but also weird (for instance, why is Lily’s only friend—her best friend at that—her ex-husband’s sister?). I liked that the author explored Atlas more but I felt like he wasn’t a multi-dimensional character. His personality fell flat for me and the story lacked some depth. I just didn’t love this story the way I thought I might have.
