Overall, a fun read - I started reading this because I so lots of other people reading it, and there was a buddy read, so thanks lovely people! I don't tend to read seasonally but it did seem appropriate to read this close to Halloween. I loved Geekerella, but it didn't actually twig for me that this was by the same author until someone pointed out a reference to the series - doh!

I liked this. It took a bit to really get going, and TBH the first half was kind of depressing, but the second half did redeem the book. I am not often surprised, and I just didn't see a lot of the plot twists coming!

I’m so happy that I loved this book because it’s the first one I picked up for the year. I’m taking it as an omen for another good reading year!

There was something so special about these characters and I can easily see it becoming a book I come back to as a comfort read. I’m only slightly upset I let it physically sit in my tbr stack for so long😫

This book was average for me. The romance was cute and Ben and the MC had such cute interactions. The connection and chemistry was great!

The rest of the book, however, was average for me. I didn't really connect to the MC outside of her romance. The parts about her family were depressing.

I really wanted to like this book more because the plot is so intriguing to me, but something didn't click for me.
