I really loved this book so much I loved how it read like a fairytale of old. I loved many of the characters but I especially loved Miryem she was such a interesting character that went from just wanting her family to live to getting not so wanted attention to caring about another sort of people and finding a type of happiness. I also loved how all the POVs fit so well together seeing what was going on here and there there were many great characters. I loved the plot it starts by telling of a mo

This might be the best fairytale retelling I've ever read. I love the three strong female protagonists. Their strength wasn't forced into the story, it was natural and they all felt like real people. I loved the weaving of multiple fairytales and legends into one story and the fact that I could relate to one of the protagonists because of her Jewish heritage. A wonderfully magical story that I wish I had picked up sooner. The Winter King, the Staryks, the magic...and that ending...all of it was perfection. If you enjoy reading fairytale retellings and/or books with found families then add this one to your TBR. It has such strong female characters, which I love, and multiple POVs. Naomi Novik's writing is amazing. She weaves this story together so seamlessly. I have decided that I will pick up anything she writes. This would also be a great book to re

This book gave me major winter vibes. I could definitely picture myself making tea, lighting candles, and cocooning myself in blankets while listening to the audiobook on a cold January day. But did I?
No. 🤣
Honestly a missed opportunity on my part, but I still enjoyed listening to the audiobook on my commute to work. It got me up in the morning because I needed to know what happened!
