I wish I could rave that I loved this one. Up until the last chapter, this was a solid 2 star read. Not because I didn't love the references to old shows or songs or music (because I did! Who doesn't love a good Princess Bride quote?!), or that I didn't find the world interesting or fascinating - because I did - I just didn't feel the same pull in the story as I did the ...more

Damn...I have a LOT to say about this one, but I am too angry atm to do so...

Yikes.

I should have listened to the plethora of negative reviews for this book but I just had to find out for myself. This sequel was not needed and it was a huge mistake. The character of the MC, Wade, is completely destroyed. The first third of the book is literally just Wade being a generally terrible person living the life of luxury while the rest of the world suffers. He of course thinks he is terribly hard done by because his short relationship has fallen apart.
