This was such a perfect audiobook! I loved the full cast, and it was just so well done. The story itself is addictive, haunting, and so well-written. The ending absolutely wrecked me. Such a great book!

Wow, this book was not what I expected based on the summary. But, it isn't what I expected in a good way. I thought it was going to be a simple story of a girl aiming to get revenge for her sister's murder with a reporter following her story. Turns out it's a lot more than that. There is so much happening, both in the past and the present. The author did an amazing job of tying all of these strings together. Books rarely make me cry but I feel numb after finishing this. I don’t know how to move forward. It’s so deeply personal to me and so foreign at the same time. It’s mind boggling how much of myself I see in Sadie.

I was very skeptical of this book when I began reading -- the "podcast" format was a bit off-putting for me at first, and I was unsure whether I could get past it. However, as soon as I dove into the story, which alternates between Sadie's perspective as she hunts for the person who killed her sister and the podcast which details searching for Sadie (who is now missing), I was hooked.

First off, if you are interested in this book...get the audiobook. The audio version is fantastically done!

TW: pedophilia, sexual abuse/rape, murder

As a mother this was painful to read. Knowing that stuff like this actually happens in our world made me want to hold my babies tight and never let them out of my sight.
