Wow, this book was not what I expected based on the summary. But, it isn't what I expected in a good way. I thought it was going to be a simple story of a girl aiming to get revenge for her sister's murder with a reporter following her story. Turns out it's a lot more than that. There is so much happening, both in the past and the present. The author did an amazing job of tying all of these strings together. I was very skeptical of this book when I began reading -- the "podcast" format was a bit off-putting for me at first, and I was unsure whether I could get past it. However, as soon as I dove into the story, which alternates between Sadie's perspective as she hunts for the person who killed her sister and the podcast which details searching for Sadie (who is now missing), I was hooked.

First off, if you are interested in this book...get the audiobook. The audio version is fantastically done!

As a mother this was painful to read. Knowing that stuff like this actually happens in our world made me want to hold my babies tight and never let them out of my sight. This book was heart-wrenching and twisted, I just wish I had more. I feel like I say that a lot and I get why it ended the way it did, but I really like some closure from my books an ...more
