4 stars. I do love me a good ambiguous ending and this one was done so well. I got a little teary eyed at the end and I finished this book so confused and yet I loved it.
The writing is fantastic. I love the way it’s set up with it being split between the podcast about Sadie being missing and then Sadie’s point of view. It was really well done. The plot is interesting and full of mystery and intrigue. There were some twists that I didn’t see coming and everything seemed to get crazier and crazie ...more

This book has been one of those books that I have been eyeing for a while and always said I'll get to it and forget about it as my to be read list grows and grows. But I finally came back and decided to choose it as the read for my YA book club I'm running and what I read I did not expect.
First off this book was very hard to swallow. It covers a lot of heavy subjects such as domestic abuse, child pornography, child molestation, and rape so I will not go into a full summary to spare ...more

I loved the format of this book, mostly because of the way the audio version did it. The podcast parts had theme music and that podcast sound; the interview tapes sounded like police tapes; and Sadie's POV was done well.
The story itself was quite interesting and heartbreaking at the same time. All that Sadie and her sister went through, the not knowing what happened to Sadie and following along with the podcast hoping for a discovery.

A missing teenager's body is found in a burnt out schoolhouse. Her older sister goes missing soon after. A radio show host traces the journey of Sadie, the sister, in an attempt to find her and broadcasts his efforts as a podcast, The girls.
We as readers get to follow the story from both sides; with Sadie who is searching for a man she believes to be responsible for her sister's death and via the podcast that is about where she could possibly have ended up.
Revealing a tale of parental addiction ...more

I had never heard of this book before. I read it for a FB group. I struggled to get through it. I did not like the way it was read. It was read like an interview ( a podcast about a missing girl). I had had some people tell me it was better listen to.
The book is about a girl who goes looking for the person who killed her sister and ends up going missing herself. A man who runs a podcast about missing girls is contacted by the missing girls family member and he begins a search to find the missin ...more
